Send an email and ask us about it sometime.
Applied Mathematics is a social intelligence company that brings together policy and intelligence experts with creative communicators from the marketing, advertising, technology, and social media sectors.
Mission Transport VB
MissionTransportVB was a social media counter-messaging campaign that supported a multi-modal transportation referendum in the Hampton Roads region of Virginia. Combining intelligence gathering, digital design, video direction, and demographic targeting that generated social conversation, MissionTransportVB generated hundreds of thousands online interactions each month to support referendum activities.
People Get Ready
People Get Ready was a political campaign launched in partnership with NFL hall of fame legend, Bruce Smith to get the largest city in Virginia to fund a Disparity Study to identify discrepancies in the city’s women/minority business enterprise program. Our team developed People Get Ready to mobilize groups of people who would not otherwise engage with one another by working at the intersection of politics, media, and culture.
Registration Day was an interfaith project between the Jewish and Muslim community which was put together by Applied Mathematics’s nonprofit wing AP Math Labs (apmathlabs.org). This project not only addressed the concerns of the interfaith community over certain policy rhetoric directed at religious minorities, but was implemented as a social conversation to bring people together through dialogue and one-on-one interactions.
The #Caliphail campaign was created in collaboration with the Muslim community to counter the spread of ISIS propaganda and radicalization in the U.K. Working with foreign policy professionals and regional experts, Applied Mathematics produced media products which were not only stylish, but also countered the core messaging architecture of ISIS directly. Using a team of digital and comic illustrators, artists, and social responders our social media campaign generated conversation and interactions that shifted perception away from radicalization and into positive pursuits.
Our social media channels reached thousands of young people directly and included countless interactions by social responders on the issue of ISIS radicalization.
Hampton Roads Pride Portrait Series
AP Math is currently working with HR Pride on a portrait / essay series documenting the lives of the LGBTQ community throughout southern Virginia. Keep an eye on this space for updates.
Political Risk Assessments
One of our specialities and part of our main platform is integrating creative messaging with risk, vulnerability, and intelligence assessments for clients who need to establish influence or counter-message against adverse narratives. We have conducted analysis all over the world in some of the toughest political and security landscapes for corporations, political candidates, and organizations who need to recalibrate influence and win back social voice. The examples of how an organization can lose time and resources due to losing narrative control are becoming to numerous to list and understanding how to harness or mitigate online social media interactions is critical in advancing any goal and objective in the 21st century.
